Sungrove

The Sungrove project was a full-home remodel of a single-story residence in Garden Grove. The owners wanted to take a standard mid-century footprint and bring it forward — open up the ceilings, modernize every room, and inject some real personality into the finish package without losing the warmth of the original home.

We took the project from permit application through final inspection in-house. The scope covered the kitchen, multiple bathrooms, all bedrooms, the main living areas, and a full exterior refresh.

The structural decision that changed everything was opening up the ceilings. We pushed the main living areas to vaulted with exposed beams and added skylights through the kitchen and great room — natural light floods the space in a way that completely changes how the home reads. The footprint didn't grow, but the home feels twice as large.

The kitchen was rebuilt as the centerpiece of the home. White shaker cabinetry, a large center island, quartz countertops, and a stainless appliance package, all anchored under the new vaulted ceiling and skylights. A secondary kitchen/wet bar area gives the home a real entertaining capability — a feature you don't usually find in a home this size.

The master bath is the most dramatic finish in the house: a freestanding soaking tub set against a wood feature wall, paired with a designer vanity, walk-in tile shower, and full-height tile work. It reads as a true spa retreat, not a converted bedroom bath.

The secondary bathrooms were finished to match — walk-in showers, designer vanities, modern fixtures, and tile work that holds the same finish level as the master. The bedrooms are kept light and clean, with consistent flooring and trim throughout.

Outside, the exterior was refreshed with new siding, paint, and a signature bright accent door — a single bold color choice that gives the home its street identity and signals the design intent of what's inside.

Delivered on schedule with full permit closeout through the City of Garden Grove, every permit handled in-house — a complete remodel that turned a standard mid-century home into a design-forward, light-filled space.
