El Mar

The El Mar project was a full interior refresh of a two-story home in Fountain Valley. The owners wanted to modernize the home without taking on a structural rebuild — lighten everything, open up the main level, and bring the kitchen and bathrooms up to a current standard.

We took the project from permit application through final inspection in-house. The scope focused on finishes, cabinetry, and fixtures rather than reframing — the existing layout worked, it just needed to be brought into this decade.

The kitchen became the anchor of the remodel. We rebuilt it with white shaker cabinetry, a center island, quartz countertops, and a stainless appliance package — a clean, light palette that carries through the rest of the home. The connection to the dining and living areas was kept open, so the main level reads as one continuous space rather than separate rooms.

New light wood-look LVP flooring was installed throughout the main living areas and upstairs, replacing the original flooring and giving the whole home a unified, brighter feel. The staircase was refinished to match — wood treads with a clean rail detail that ties into the new flooring.

Both bathrooms were finished in a modern style. The primary pairs a dark wood vanity with twin round designer mirrors, accent lighting, and a fully tiled walk-in shower — the most "designed" room in the house. The secondary keeps it clean and minimal: a glass-enclosed walk-in shower, simple hardware, and a quiet finish package.

Interior paint, trim, and finish work were completed throughout, along with a full lighting package update and a refreshed exterior paint job to match the new feel of the interior.

Delivered on schedule with full permit closeout through the City of Fountain Valley, every permit handled in-house — a turnkey interior remodel that gave the home a fresh, modern feel without changing what already worked.
