Acacia

Acacia was a full interior remodel of a Fountain Valley home where the existing layout had stopped working for how the family actually lived. The brief was straightforward: open it up, make the spaces feel connected, and let the kitchen become the natural center of the home — without over-designing or chasing trends.

The kitchen was the biggest move. We redesigned the layout into a true open-concept plan, removing walls between the cooking, dining, and living zones so the entire main floor reads as one continuous space. The new kitchen is built around a double island — one for prep, one for seating and gathering — finished with custom cabinetry, new stone countertops, and a layered designer lighting package. As soon as it was done, the islands became exactly what we expected: the spot everyone gravitates toward.

For flooring, we made a deliberate split. Large-format tile runs through the entire first floor — durable, easy to maintain, and visually clean across the open layout. Upstairs we switched to engineered wood to bring warmth into the bedrooms and private spaces. The transition gives the home two distinct personalities — public and durable downstairs, soft and warm upstairs — without breaking the design language.

Both bathrooms received full finish refreshes — new vanities, fixtures, tile, and lighting packages — and we added smaller architectural moments throughout, including a vinyl accent wall in the family room and a fresh whole-home paint package to tie everything together.

This wasn't a tear-down-and-rebuild project. It was the right changes in the right places — the moves that actually shift how a home feels day to day. Delivered on schedule with all permits handled in-house, and a strong addition to the FGRED Fountain Valley portfolio.
